Adventist HealthCare Washington Adventist Hospital
Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center and Adventist HealthCare Washington Adventist Hospital each have received two awards from the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association for life-saving, high-quality stroke care.
Both hospitals have long been recognized as high quality providers of stroke care in the region, designated earlier this year as Primary Stroke Centers by the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems, a five-year designation that both hospitals first received in 2011. Maintaining the designations requires both hospitals to establish rapid and coordinated team approach to stroke care, in addition to meeting requirements relating to timeliness of care and community education about stroke.
