National Dog Day is celebrated each year to bring attention to the plight of dogs in our society. We love them as pets and working dogs save lives, keep us safe and provide assistance to the disabled. Dogs work selflessly in law enforcement sniffing for drugs and bombs and assist first responders by pulling victims from wreckage and dangerous situations. Guide dogs allow mobility to the blind and unsupported love to those in need of comfort.
